Kalahari Summer

Although for many visitors the Kalahari evokes images of winter game drives in a vast desert of thirsty red sands, it is the capricious summer landscape that has been luring painter and photographer Robert Grogan back to this region for more than 30 years. Together with his wife Lee, he has braved unpredictable, sometimes violent storms, impassable roads, fierce heat and humidity, insects and tall grass for the chance to paint the summer cloud banks and startling local transformations rendered by the rains.
