Following a referendum and adoption of a new constitution in August 2010, Kenya is now divided into 47 Counties that are semi-autonomous units of governance. The Counties are governed by elected Governors and operate independent of the Central Government in Nairobi. The Map shows the 47 Counties and 284 districts.
