Though several books for NET Exam are available in the bookshops an attempt to discuss the theoretical foundations of each of the ten components of the first paper of the UGC test is not available now. The authors of this book have very seriously and intensively discussed each of these components justifiably and sufficient number of practice questions is given at the end of each unit. Sufficient number of solved question papers of the previous UGC-NET/JRF examinations and twelve model question papers are also given at the end of this manual. This would surely enrich the learners to equip them for the test and to boost their confidence.
